Agave Paloma

By Abraham Delgado IG @abraham_idf

Ingredients

• 40 ml / 1 1/2 parts Altos Plata infused with serrano chile

• 15 ml / 1/2 part Vida Mezcal Del Maguey

• 45 / 1 1/2 parts fresh grapefruit juice

• 20 ml / 2/3 part lime juice

• 15 ml/ 1/2 part agave syrup

• Top with light beer

• 2 dashes of Angostura bitters

Method

Build ingredients in an ice filled shaker. Shake. Serve with crushed ice in a julep cup or clay “jarrito” and garnish with a grapefruit twist.

“In Mexico, we love to drink tequila or mezcal with a chaser of our favorite brew. I wanted to put all these flavors in a single drink that would pay homage to those times when you get together with friends for lunch but start with a round of refreshing, very Mexican drinks. The Agave Paloma is slightly smoky because of the Vida Mezcal, has touches of bitterness from the beer and grapefruit and is decidedly refreshing. The perfect autumn aperitif!”

Altos Honey Highball

Altos Honey Highball

By Abraham Delgado IG @abraham_idf

Ingredients

• 50 ml Altos Reposado

• 20 ml lime juice

• 20 ml honey

• 40 ml orange juice

• Club soda to top

Method

Add the first three ingredients to a highball glass and stir to dissolve the honey. Add and integrate the orange juice. Add ice and top with club soda. Garnish with an orange wedge.

“This is a refreshing tall drink that showcases the flavors of Altos. With sweet orange and tangy lime, its floral notes change depending on your choice of local honey. Easy to make and very easy to drink at home, it also reflects the pretty colors of the Mexican Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead).”

La Ofrenda (The Offering)

Created by Dré Masso IG @dremasso

Ingredients

• 35 ml Altos Añejo (Ultra Aged)

• 5 ml Del Maguey Vida Mezcal

• 20 ml Averna

• 1 dash Angostura bitters

• 2 dashes orange bitters

Method

Build ingredients in a stirring glass. Stir well to chill and dilute. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Spray with orange zest, discard. Garnish with flower petals–we used cempasúchil (Mexican marigold).

“As the name suggests, La Ofrenda is a dedication to someone we have lost… a celebration of life with rich, deep earthy flavors that tie in nicely with this time of the year. It’s also dark in color, so the Halloween “box” can be ticked as well, if you like. More than anything I wanted to make a great drink for the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration.”
