Welcome Spring With These Cinco de Mayo Cocktails 


The subtle aroma of white flowers, the freshness of just-squeezed lime juice, a few bubbles, some cucumber slices and the flavors of Mexico are a must in your Altos Tequila cocktails. Get ready now to celebrate this 5 de Mayo with all you got!

A festive toast with an Altos Bandera!

Few things are as Mexican as the iconic bandera, or flag. This cocktail is perfect for Cinco de Mayo!

Sip One: 

  • 25ml/ 1 Part lime juice 
  • 5ml/ 1/6 Part agave syrup

Sip Two: 

  • 30ml/ 1 Part Altos Plata

Sip Three: 

  • 30ml/ 1 Part sangrita

Sangrita Recipe for 1 liter 

Ingredients: 

  • 750 ml tomato juice 
  • 100 ml parts lime juice 
  • 100 ml lemon juice 
  • Dash Tabasco 
  • Dash grenadine 
  • 2 pinch sea salt 
  • 2 pinch black pepper, ground 

Method: 

Add all ingredients into a large jug, stir well and store in a clean 1 liter glass bottle. Serve cold.

A Jasmine Tea Margarita to bring fragrance to your day! 

Few things say spring like white, aromatic flowers–and this fresh, citrusy margarita is a beautiful way to kickstart the season.

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml / 2 parts Altos Plata 
  • 25 ml / 1 part lime juice 
  • 20 ml / 2 spoons agave syrup 
  • 75 ml / 2 1/2 parts chilled jasmine tea 
  • Lime twist and jasmine flower for garnish 

Method:

Build all ingredients in mason jar glass over ice and stir. Garnish with a lime twist and jasmine flower.

Let your soul bloom with a Hibiscus Margarita!

Mexicans love flor de jamaica, or hibiscus, in every season. But these floral, fruity notes make even more sense in the spring!

Ingredients: 

  • 50 ml / 2 parts Altos Plata 
  • 25 ml / 1 part fresh lime juice 
  • 20 ml / 2 spoons Hibiscus syrup 
  • Caramelized chile for garnish 

Method: 

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake. Double strain into a chilled coupette glass and garnish with a caramelized chile.

If you want to cool off with some bubbles, try the Tequila Twinkle!

This drink has elderflower cordial and champagne, but is still agave forward. it’s even better if you foraged the elderflower.

Ingredients: 

  • 45 ml / 1 1/2 part Altos Plata 
  • 15 ml / 1/2 part elderflower cordial 
  • 75 ml / 2 1/2 parts Mumm Cordon Rouge Brut Champagne

Method: 

Shake Altos and cordial, strain into a chilled cocktail or coupette glass.

If you want some cucumber, go for an Altos Spring!

A nice interpretation of a warm spring, from a Nordic’s point of view!

Ingredients: 

  • 35 ml / 1 1/6 parts Altos Plata 
  • 20ml / 2/3 part Lillet Blanc 
  • 15ml / 1/2 part St. Germain liqueur 
  • 25ml / 5/6 parts lemon juice 
  • 5ml / 5/6 parts sugar syrup 
  • 2 slices of cucumber

Method:

In a cocktail shaker, muddle cucumber slices with sugar syrup, then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake hard and double strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cucumber slice on a stick.
