Altos Tequila blends tradition and sustainability, promoting responsible agriculture, packaging, and bartender empowerment worldwide.

In a world where authenticity and sustainability matter more than ever, Altos Tequila emerges not just as a spirit but as a statement. Rooted in tradition and elevated by innovation, Altos blends artisanal tequila-making with a deep respect for people, planet, and community. Its journey—from certified agave fields to responsibly packaged bottles—is proof that great taste and great values can go hand in hand. Welcome to a tequila that honors the past, embraces the present, and pours a more sustainable future.

Sustainability at the Heart of Altos

From its beginning, Altos Tequila has been more than just a drink. It’s an authentic concept born from the heart of mixology. Created by bartenders and a maestro tequilero, Altos honors traditional production methods (tahona, brick oven, copper still) and stands out as a 100% agave tequila that’s versatile and of high quality. But its commitment goes beyond flavor: sustainability is a core pillar of its identity.

As part of the global Tahona Society community, Altos promotes a holistic vision that supports responsible practices, mental health, professional development, and fosters support networks for bartenders worldwide. Within this framework, Altos’ Sustainability & Responsibility projects reflect its belief that a great tequila should also care for its people and the planet.

Flagship Projects: From Field to Packaging

  1. Certified Sustainable Agriculture
Altos has achieved Gold-level certification on the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) for agave plantations owned by Altos. This certification is an international standard that recognizes responsible agricultural practices in biodiversity, water management, soil health, and labor conditions. Additionally, one of its contracted fields has earned Silver-level certification, demonstrating a commitment that extends across its supply chain.
  1. Environmental Protection with ARA
Altos complies with the Agave Responsable Ambiental (ARA) protocol, ensuring that no agave used comes from deforested areas. This protocol protects local ecosystems and aligns production with biodiversity conservation.

  1. Responsible Packaging
All paper and cardboard packaging used by Altos is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified, guaranteeing that materials come from responsible and sustainable sources.

Tangible Results and Achieved Goals

  • FSA SAI Gold certification for owned plantations and Silver for a contracted field.
  • 100% deforestation-free agave, thanks to ARA protocol compliance.
  • 100% FSC-certified packaging, ensuring sustainability in product presentation.

These achievements not only reflect Altos’ environmental commitment but also raise the bar for the tequila industry toward more conscious production.

An Inspiring Vision for the Future

Altos Tequila has a clear vision for the future: to stay a leader in authenticity, quality, and sustainability. With the Tahona Society, it will keep empowering bartenders around the world to promote responsible practices, build strong communities, and make the tequila experience more meaningful.

At Altos, every drop tells a story of tradition, community, and respect for the world we share.
