In 2009, Altos Tequila created a bartender community with the pioneering objective of supporting the industry with career opportunities, education and networking.
The Tahona Society is a strong global FAMILIA, that looks to inspire, engage and strengthen the bartender community so that we all contribute to the building and maintaining of a higher standard and consciousness within our industry and for the planet.
We invite you to join us by participating in our unique competition today!
The Tahona Society Competition is a challenge to engage and transform the bar industry by creating projects that positively impact people and the planet.
Four years ago, we decided to replace a straight-up cocktail competition with a more meaningful competition of bar-related sustainability projects: the first of its kind in the industry!
La Mata project @lamata_cuba from Cuba, presented by Diana Figueroa and Daniel Roque, was the winner of the last the Tahona Society Competition in 2021.
La Mata is an initiative focused on the production of handcrafted cocktail products using a scientific and sustainable approach (cordials, kombuchas, sodas and liqueurs using locally grown Cuban products). This project seeks to maximize the use of local raw materials, and in doing so, fulfills the mission of this competition of caring for the planet and its people.
